Church of Another Chance/New Hampshire

Because from the darkness we can take flight

Circle of prayer

Embracing Divine Worth

We’re one of just two US churches dedicated to helping incarcerated and recently released individuals from a county jail. We offer unconditional love, believing it comes from God. We encourage them to recognize their worth and that they’re not defined by their past actions. Our guidance leads them to good health and a joy-filled life.

Loving Change Agents

We accompany men and women during their incarceration and continue to support them upon release. Our collaboration with other community agencies aims to transform the lives of a frequently overlooked segment of our society. Our church's ethos ensures that no one is abandoned. Membership in the Church of Another Chance is lifelong; it cannot be rescinded for any reason. Hence the name, we offer not just a second chance but a third, fourth, fifth — as many as necessary.

Unconditional Love

We will love you no matter what you have done. You are not defined by your worst actions.

God Doesn't Make Junk

We believe that you are also deserving. God cherishes all of creation.

Never Ending Determination

Once you are a member, we will never give up on you. We will always be there to support you.

Resources for Change

We want to see you succeed. We can help find resources to better your health and live a joyfilled life.

Crime is often a function of grief where men and women act out the agonizing pain caused by early-life trauma. There is an overwhelming loss of love and safety, a sense of betrayal, confusion, and alienation that leads to devastating harm to victims, themselves, family, friends and the community as they seek to find their place in the world. The result is arrest, incarceration and the deepening sense of not belonging in the world. With adequate, credible and compassionate care, healing begins, lives restored, and bright futures emboldened.

The Church of Another Chance/New Hampshire is solely dedicated to unflinchingly provide meaningful holistic services to help heal the physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated so they can return to their original wholeness in order to live lives of importance, meaning and purpose.

** Picture:  "Melancholy", a sculpture created by Albert Gyorgy, portrays the void that grief leaves us with. The sculpture depicts a figure made of copper sitting on a bench slumped over, with a giant hole in the center of it.
